For an actor, the term “chewing the scenery” can mean one of many things. It can be a bad actor giving a hammy performance. It can be a particularly good actor who is underutilized and pulling focus like crazy. At any rate, when an actor lacks direction and needs something to do within a performance, it can be said that he or she is chewing the scenery.
And that is who I am and what I am doing: I am an under-utilized, talented actress who is using this blog to develop a burgeoning writing career, yes, but also as a means of self-expression. I came to New York to live out my dream to make my living as an actress. As frustrating and cruel as the industry is, I have found New York more wonderful than I imagined. This is a blog for those of you who wish to read about my various experiences not only in New York, but in other cities I visit. I hope you find stories and ideas to chew on yourself… thanks for reading.
